Per-image notes (also called photo comments) add a text field to every photo in the gallery. Both you and your client can write there, so the conversation about a photo stays attached to that photo instead of getting lost in a chat or an email.

What it is for

• Saying which photo to print. Your client can write "this one for the 16x24 canvas" or "two copies of this" right on the photo.
• Requesting retouches. "Remove the cable in the background", "brighten the skin a little": each instruction sits on the photo it refers to.
• Planning an album. The client can note which photo goes on the cover or the order they want.
• Answering questions. You can write on each photo too, to explain an edit or ask something.

How to turn it on

• Open the gallery. When creating or editing a gallery, go to the "Comments" section.
• Switch on "Photo comments". Save your changes. It is set per gallery, so you can have it on some and not others.
• Share the gallery as usual. The link does not change and your client has nothing to install.

What your client sees

• A note icon on every photo. It sits next to the favorite star and shows how many notes that photo has.
• A panel to write in. Tapping the icon opens a panel with that photo's notes and a field to add a new one. It can also be opened from the full-screen view.
• We email you. When your client leaves notes you get an email a few minutes later. Several notes in a row arrive together in one message.

Note types

• Photographer. Your notes appear with a purple "Photographer" label. Use them to indicate pending edits, retouching instructions, or any technical details.
• Client. Client notes appear with a green label. They can request adjustments, ask questions, or simply express what they like about the photo.

Notes are saved automatically and available to both parties at all times. You don't need to reload the page to see new notes — they appear when you open the photo's panel.

Pro plan only

Photo comments are part of the Pro plan. On the Basic plan the "Photo comments" switch is locked in the gallery form and your clients do not see the notes field.

When you move to Pro the switch unlocks right away on all your galleries, including ones you have already shared. If you later leave Pro, notes stop showing in the gallery.
