Lightroom Integration
With our plugin for Adobe Lightroom Classic, photos selected by your client become a collection with a single click.
The Lightroom integration is one of the most powerful features of ChooseYourPictures. It directly connects your client's selection process with your editing workflow in Adobe Lightroom Classic.
How does it work?
- Your client selects their favorite photos in the gallery you shared with them.
- You receive an email with a button that says "Create Folder in Lightroom".
- When you click the button, Adobe Lightroom Classic opens automatically.
- The plugin searches for the photos in your Lightroom catalog using file names.
- A collection is created named "escogetusfotos-ClientName" containing only the selected photos.
In seconds you have all photos ready to edit, without searching for them manually.
Requirements
- Adobe Lightroom Classic. The plugin only works with Lightroom Classic (the desktop version). It is not compatible with Lightroom CC (the cloud version).
- Photos must be imported. The plugin searches for photos by file name within your catalog. If you have not imported the photos to Lightroom, the plugin cannot find them.
- Original file names. Photos in your catalog must have the same names as those you uploaded to ChooseYourPictures. If you renamed the photos after uploading, the plugin will not find them.
Install the plugin
- Go to Settings and select Lightroom as your Photo Editor.
- Click Download Plugin for Lightroom to download the ZIP file (or use the button above).
-
Unzip the file. You will find a folder called
escogetusfotos_lightroom.lrplugin. - Open Lightroom Classic and go to File → Plug-in Manager.
- Click Add and select the plugin folder.
- Verify that the plugin appears as Installed and running.
You only need to install the plugin once. From then on, every time a client makes their selection, you can open the photos in Lightroom with a single click from your email.
Open photos from the actions menu
In addition to the email, you can open the selection in Lightroom at any time from your dashboard. In the client list, click the Actions menu for the client and select Open in Lightroom. This has the same effect as the email button.
Troubleshooting
-
The button does not open Lightroom. Verify that Lightroom Classic is installed and the plugin is active. In some browsers, the first time you use a
lightroom://link you need to authorize the application to open. - Photos not found. Make sure the photos are imported in your Lightroom catalog with their original names. The plugin searches by file name (without extension).
- Collection is created but empty. The photos in your catalog likely have different names than those you uploaded. Verify that the names match.
